Concept
My playground consists of a small-scale, outdoor version of the House of Blue Leaves set, and a small-scale version of the El Paso Two Pines Church.
The Houseof Blue Leaves is a two-level structure with stairs on one side, and a slide on the other. There is a wheelchair-accessible ramp on the rear side of the structure so disabled children can reach the top level. Between the slide and the stairs on the first level is a stage with a catwalk and ramp. Children can put on productions such as plays or talent shows. Wood chips will cover most of the area, but in-ground trampolines with sound effects will be placed around the ground (click here to listen to "Flip Strings" sound effect).
The Two Pines Church set will be set in a sand play area, with two trees to provide shade. Inside the church, there will be pews for resting or hide-and-seek. There will also be a functional but "kid proof" church organ. |
